The ever popular GMAT which stands for Graduate Management Admission test can be taken in around 500 test centers around the world.

There dates are flexible which is great news meaning that you will easily be able to find a date that suits you.

The test is computer based but cannot be completed at home you must visit one of the approved test centers. If you visit the official MBA website you can find the five nearest centers to you: giving you lots of choice to find the easiest accessible center for you.

The centers to offer the test include Pro-metric Testing centers, Sylvan Centers, Educational Testing Service offices as well as universities and colleges.

There is also a mobile testing center in the form of a bus which serves certain out of the way routes across America.

The appointments are given out on a first come first served basis so make sure to register early to avoid disappointment.

You must first register to take your GMAT and this can be done at the MBA website.

Some important information to note is that the test costs $250 and lasts around 3 and a half hours.

When taking the test make sure to bring the proper materials that you need with you especially a form of identification, acceptable forms of ID include: Passport, drivers license, military ID or ID card.

Do not turn up to the GMAT with a calculator or cell phone, these are not allowed!

Allow time to prepare for the test – this should be a minimum of four weeks. Make sure your math skills are up to standard as basic mathematics are tested during the test.

Look for practice tests online to help you prepare for the real thing, the more practice the more chance you have of passing first time.

If you fail the test you can take only take it once per month and then only five times in a year, hopefully this won’t happen as you will be seriously out of pocket!

If you make an appointment for the test and then are unable to make it you can apply to have it rescheduled, bear in mind though that there is a rescheduling fee of $50 to do this.

Once the GMAT is completed you will be sent a package informing you of the outcome and of your score, your test scores are valid for 5 years.
