- We are looking for an experienced Evidence Advisor, who has a strong background in improving reproductive, maternal, new born, child and adolescent health (RMNCAH), to provide technical support to our team in Abuja.
Responsibilities
- This is a senior level role in the MamaYe team, it will be based in Abuja, Nigeria with national travel and a possibility of international travel. The primary purposes of the role are to:
- Provide technical support to E4A-MamaYe work-streams that relate to evidence packaging & presentation, evidence-based advocacy by state level accountability mechanisms and other coalitions and ensuring the linkage of quality of care data to the budgeting processes.
- Lead contributions to evidence components of training packages: for example, how to identify and analyse data; linking different data sources, support to the team on evidence related capacity strengthening activities.
- Quality-assure the evidence-related work of State Advisors, monitoring & evaluation. Support donor reporting.
- Responsibility of E4A monitoring & evaluation activities and reporting
Person specification
- At least ten years’ work experience, with significant experience monitoring & evaluation, data management & use, and in the provision of technical assistance including remote support;
- Strong management experience, with demonstrable experience of managing / mentoring / supervising multi-disciplinary teams across different locations
- Experience with quality improvement or quality of care initiatives;
- Experience working with MPDSR committees
- Strong understanding of advocacy and accountability approaches to facilitate change;
- Strong experience of capacity strengthening initiatives, including delivery of in-person and remote trainings
- Experience in developing training packages.
- Strong experience in facilitating evidence-based planning processes to track progress on health indicators and commitments;
- Ability to interpret and translate evidence into different formats;
- Solid understanding of the health sector, including the relationship between national and sub-national levels and engagement with civil society, government agencies, health professional bodies and regional health groups;
- Experience in working with civil society coalitions and platforms;
- Advanced skills using Excel, PowerPoint and DHIS2.
- Fluency in written and spoken English
