Catholic Relief Services (CRS) is an International non-governmental organization supporting relief and development work in over 99 countries around the world. CRS programs assist persons on the basis of need, regardless of creed, ethnicity or nationality, CRS works through local church and non-church partners to implement its programs, therefore, strengthening and building the capacity of these partner organizations is fundamental to programs in every country in which CRS operates. CRS re-established presence in Nigeria in 2000 and currently focuses on agriculture, health and emergency programming. CRS is expanding its activities in the North-East in the area of Food Security, Nutrition, Non Food Items, Water and Sanitation.


We are seeking qualified candidate for the following vacant positions below:


Job Title: Operations Manager
Band: E-1
Location: Maiduguri, Borno
Department: Operations
Reports To: Emergency Coordinator

Job Summary


  • Primary function is to provide leadership and oversight of the country program’s operational support functions Finance, Compliance, Human Resources, Administration/Information Technology, Supply Chain Management, and audit and compliance, to effectively and efficiently meet articulated needs, manage risk, increase efficiency and ensures that corresponding systems are in place and applicable, and CRS and donor policies are consistently applied.

  • Along with Head of Programs, leads and oversees activities to strengthen the capacities of CRS staff and partners in management quality.

  • The Operations Manager is a member of the country program senior management team (CR, HOP, and OM), supports the Country Representative in creating a work environment that motivates and challenges employees to constantly improve performance and plays a key role in all senior management decisions and initiatives, and in SR compliance

Qualifications


  • Master’s in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, or other relevant field.

  • Minimum Five years’ work experience in a management of non-profit, development, and/or humanitarian organization.

  • Experience managing large, complex U.S. government awards; knowledge of relevant regulations.

  • Knowledge of procurement and general office administration/management issues.

  • Ability to work in a complex environment and to lead and work with a multi-cultural team.

  • Computer literate in MS Office, internet, email.

  • Strong communications and analytical abilities.

  • Willingness to travel within and outside Borno state

 


Job Title: Driver
Band: B-1
Location: Maiduguri, Borno
Department: Operations
Reports To: Operations Manager
Slot: 4

Job Summary


  • Drivers will be responsible for ensuring that the minimum maintenance standard of the CRS/Nigeria’s fleet is the vehicle manufacturer’s specification.

  • He will also follow up and ensure that routine preventative maintenance schedules for the vehicles are strictly adhered to in a manner that will assure reliable transportation of CRS staff, assets and other goods.

Qualifications


  • Valid Nigerian driver’s license and good knowledge of Borno, Abuja and Nigerian roads

  • Minimum Four years professional experience in a similar position

  • Ability to communicate in English Language is essential

  • Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment

 


Job Title: Administrative and Human Resources Officer
Band: C-1
Location: Maiduguri, Borno
Department: Operations
Reports To: Operations Manager

Job Summary


  • The Human Resource and Administrative Officer is responsible to manage administration and logistics activities in the field office.

  • He/she also takes responsibility to conduct tasks related to human resource.

  • He/she will work closely with other staffs in the Maiduguri office and report to Operations Manager to support operation functions of the office and program go smoothly and efficiently.

Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Law, Economics, Administration or Management.

  • Must he a matured, motivated, problem solving individual with high levels of initiative.

  • Minimum of Three years relevant administrative management experience, preferably with an International Organisation

  • Prior experience in supervising staff in a structured work environment

  • Demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills

 


Job Title: IT/ICT 4D Officer
Band: C-1
Location: Maiduguri, Borno
Department: Operations
Reports To: Operations Manager

Job Summary


  • Provides support for knowledge management, decision-making, and programming effectiveness by ensuring efficient operation and use of CRS information sharing, communication, and collaboration technologies, and by providing technical support to CRS Borno staff and partners on overall ICT systems.

  • Responsible for deployment, maintenance, security data protection, and troubleshooting of technology and systems for assigned office(s).

  • Stays abreast of ICT developments in the international and local market, providing recommendations based on opportunities to improve the efficiency and impact of CRS programming, operations, and overall performance.

  • Other key responsibilities of the IT Officer is the provision of consultancy and guidance on integrating ICT for development solutions in program implementation and provision of technical assistance on ICT-related issues to partners.

Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree in IT-related field (Computer Science, Computer Networking, Programming, and Information Systems). Significant work experience in a directly related field will be considered in lieu of degree.

  • A minimum of 3 years work-related experience.

  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate or equivalent.

  • Cisco Certified Network Associate or equivalent desirable.

  • Microsoft SharePoint Foundations training desirable.

  • Microsoft system administration experience.

 


Job Title: Nutrition Coordinator
Band: D-1
Location: Maiduguri, Borno
Department: Programming
Reports To: Emergency Director

Job Summary


  • The Nutrition Coordinator will support beneficiary caregivers in the production of nutrient-dense foods essential for growth and work with communities to improve access to water and sanitation services.

  • Nutrition and hygiene behavior change will be integrated throughout production and income generation activities to encourage production of more nutritious foods and the use of increased income to benefit nutrition.

  • The Nutrition Coordinator will ensure adherence to CR5 technical and program quality standards in implementation and compliance by partners.

Qualifications


  • Master’s degree in Nutrition, Public Health or related field.

  • Five years of working experience in Agriculture, Nutrition, WASH or Food Security Program

  • Understanding of U.S Government grant provisions and guidelines, including proposal formats and reporting requirements

  • Capacity to work closely, understand, arid support local partners

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Excellent training and facilitation skills, Strong computer skills: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint preferred

  • Experience in staff development and partner capacity preferred

 


Job Title: Procurement and Logistics Coordinator
Band: D-1

Reports To: Operations Manager

Job Summary


  • Efficiently and effectively manage and coordinate all aspects of procurement for the Borno office to ensure that all programs and operations have the goods and services needed, when they need them, to best assist those we serve.

  • He/She will provide logistics and travel support in brie with policies and procedures to provide a smooth and coordinated logistical and travel support to all units.

Qualifications


  • BA/B.Sc Degree in Supply and Purchasing Management or related field such as (Logistics or Administration), from recognized institution.

  • At least 4 years of relevant experience is required.

  • Membership in a professional purchasing organization preferred.

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and concisely in written and spoken English

 


Job Title: Administrative / Human Resources Assistant

Job Summary


  • The role of the Administrative / HR Assistant is to ensure:
    • That the front desk is covered at all times and well administered.

    • The availability and responsible usage of much needed office supplies and provide support to HR unit and management of the petty cash box.


  • He / She will assist in the administration of Human Resource activities in the Borno Office

Qualifications


  • First degree in Law, Business Administration or Social Science.

  • Minimum of 2 years post graduate experience in Administration/Human Resources Management, preferably in an International Organisation.

  • Demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skill,

  • Must demonstrate a good understanding of contemporary human resource issues and best practices

 


Job Title: Storehouse Officer
Band: C-1

Job Summary


  • The Storehouse Officer will ensure the effectiveness and accountability of all the activities of Reception.

  • Storage, and Delivery of food items and all the other emergency materials of the Program under the management of MRD section.

Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree in Management or equivalent work experience.

  • Having solids knowledge in stock management and at least 3 years of experience in the management and storage of food.

  • Be fluent in written and spoken English.

  • Strong reporting reports writing in English.

  • Ability to work under pressure.

 


Job Title: Database / MEAL Officer
Band: C-1
Location: Maiduguri, Borno
Department: Programming
Reports To: MEAL Manager

Job Summary


  • The Database/MEAL Officer will support the MEAL Manager focusing on data collection and management related to the emergency project.

  • It is expected that the majority of his/her time will be allocated to tracking project indictors, the progress of PEPFAR OVC IP, State and Network sustainability plans and s/he will support assessments and operations research activities as needed.

  • The Database/MEAL Officer will be responsible for developing forms, databases, manage data encoding and maintaining the database accessible to an analysis of the project.

Qualifications


  • University degree in Computer Management, Monitoring & Evaluation or related field.

  • At least 3-4 years of work experience in database management and/or MEAL, preferably with international NGOs.

  • Excellent knowledge of database management systems MS Access, SQL Server and Excel Spreadsheets.

  • Good knowledge of statistical analysis software such as SPSS and / or STATA

  • Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies/applications/computer programs quickly (e.g., iFormbuilder. ArcGIS)

  • Demonstrated ability to train data collectors and ensure high quality data.

  • Strong analytical skills.

 


Job Title: MEAL Manager
Band: C-1
Location: Maiduguri, Borno
Department: Programming
Reports To: Emergency Coordinator

Job Summary


  • The MEAL Manager is responsible for the day-to-day tracking and reporting of activities under the Emergency program.

  • The role includes but is not limited to the development of standardized data collection tools and database systems; frequent data collection; verification of results reported; analysis and presentation of findings and project progress; implementation of project accountability mechanisms; and the provision of feedback to partners.

  • The MEAL Manager will ensure that systems are in place to measure the project’s impact and progress and that data is readily available to be used as a foundation for programmatic adjustments and evidence-based decision-making.

  • In addition, s/he will take the lead in designing a learning agenda, assessment and research protocols, receiving institutional review board approval, identifying relevant STTA, overseeing data collection and report writing pertaining to all data collection and operations research conducted under this project in collaboration with subject matter experts.

  • The MEAL Manager will lead writing of project reports in line with donor timelines and regulations.

Qualifications


  • Master’s degree in Statistics, Public Health, Economics or other a field related to Monitoring and Evaluation.

  • Minimum Five years of experience in monitoring and evaluating, with a focus on capacity strengthening and emergency programs preferred.

  • Demonstrated ability to apply principles and current approaches in program M&E using both quantitative and qualitative methods.

  • Significant experience in conducting quantitative and qualitative assessments and surveys (including sound understand of sampling)

  • Proficiency in database development/management, SPSS, EPI-Info, Access, Excel and skills in analyzing, interpreting and communicating information to various stakeholders
