How to Make a 2400 on the SAT

Preparing for the SAT is something that every college-bound student does. If you’re planning on getting into school and getting a scholarship, your SAT score can make or break you. You need to know a few things before you take the test. I’m going to tell you how to make a 2400 on the SAT, or pretty darn close.

One thing that you need to understand is that studying is training. What you do when you study is what you’ll do when you test. Plain and simple. You want to make a 2400, then get 2400’s on your practice tests. How do you get there? Here are a few important study habits you’re going to have to learn:

  • No distractions. Remain focused on your study, don’t let people, TV, music, internet, boyfriend, pet, etc get in your way.

  • Time yourself. Get out the kitchen timer and time everything you do. Get acclimated to starting and stopping on a dime. That’s how the test is set up and so that’s how you should study.

  • Self study is the most effective way to prepare. You can use a coach, and I’m not advising against it, but the college board shows that people who scored the best are people who studied on their own.

  • Know that your materials are appropriate for the test you’re taking. There’s an old test, so make sure you don’t have old study material. Look for material published after 2005.

If you want to make a 2400 on the SAT, you’re going to have to get in the SAT 2400 prep mindset. This means that you’re going to have to start early. Taking the test in ninth grade is one of the smartest moves to make. You’re going to get a lot of information from your experience, and you’ll be prepared when you take the test again.

Taking it a second time in your junior year is the next step. By this time, you’ve spent enough time studying for the SAT, and you’ve got a clear idea of what you’re going to encounter on the test. Most students who test this way score better the second time around.

You’re also going this route because if you don’t make a 2400 on the second go-round, you can always take the test one more time and improve on what you’ve learned. This is the most effective way to go about preparing for the test, and the only way you’re going to make a 2400.
